| The focus of
the garden is a 10 metre long water rill with
two copper spouts which is cut into the cream
portuguese limestone and is bridged in two places
by cedar decked pontoons. Set into the pontoons
are two mult-istemmed Amelenchior lamarckii, balanced
by another specimen on the other side of the garden.
The same cedar is used for the benches and trellis
around the garden giving it a warm feel.
The planting is contained and rhythmic with a
rich green, cream and blue/purple palette. Clipped
pyramid Prunus lusitanica, Phyllostachys, Hydrangea
arborescens 'Annabelle' and Geraneum 'Johnson's
Blue' are used throughout the garden. There is
a row of pleached hornbeam at the far end of the
garden which helps screen the view of the buildings
beyond.
